JQBX, listen to music with your friends in private or public groups where everyone can be the DJ

JQBX (sounds like "Jukebox") has just become one of my favorite applications this week, if I had discovered it before maybe it would have gone to one of our best lists of the year. If you are a music lover and you have at least a small group of friends with whom you enjoy sharing your discoveries, you will almost certainly love it.

Those who once used the deceased Turntable.fm probably find something familiar, basically brings that concept to the Spotify era, and Spotify plays an important role with JQBX, since you need a premium account of that service to enjoy the app.

Since we have established that only Spotify Premium users can enjoy this little gem, if you are one of them, keep reading and failing, we feel in your soul that it is not integrated with any other streaming music service.

JQBX is completely free and integrates 100% with your profile and Spotify account. You can use it from the web in any modern browser and operating system and you also have a native application for macOS. You also have the option to download the mobile app for iOS or Android and they all work in luxury.

You just have to authorize the app to connect with your Spotify so you can access your playlists, and then the music player. JQBX needs the Spotify app to be running at the same time, because it basically becomes an extension of it

Once all this is done you can join any pubic room of the different users to discover new music. Once in a room you can vote positively or negatively on the current song and this will give a general measurement to the room. He also has a chat with emoji support.
JQBX keeps statistics of everything, of reproductions, positive and negative votes and a history of everything you have heard, marked as favorite or detested

The same thing happens if you create your own room, there you can be alone or you can invite friends. You can decide if anyone can be a DJ and add their own songs to the playback queue or you can be master of your room controlling only you music.

To add music to the queue you just have to do a search in the left side panel, there you have direct access to all your Spotify playlists and you can add songs one by one, or a whole list at a time.

The fun of this app is in friends, I've been trying it all week and when I enjoyed it the most was when I shared the room with a couple of friends who live far away and have relatively similar musical tastes, it's a nice feeling when you enjoy something between all despite the distance, and music is especially effective in these cases.
